Former President Uhuru Kenyatta Pledges Ksh.2M donation to Red-cross in Support of Flood Victims

Red-Cross to receive Ksh.2M from Uhuru as a donation towards the support of the 2024 flood victims.

Former President Uhuru Kenyatta has pledged to inject Ksh.2M into the Kenya Red Cross organization as a donation to support the flood victims in the country.

This comes after a number of citizens are disadvantaged by the floods that have continued to cause havoc and claim lives across the country.

The relentless rainfall has caused significant damage, displacing families, destroying infrastructure and claiming precious lives. During this time of profound loss and despair, my thoughts and prayers are with the affected communities as they cope with the aftermath of the natural disaster.

As a nation, we must stand together in the face of adversity, demonstrating compassion, resilience and solidarity with one another.

According to Uhuru’s statement, the donation of Ksh.2M will provide relief and essentials to the flood victims. H.E Uhuru urged Kenyans to exercise caution and avoid flooding areas and also relocate to higher grounds for safety.

This comes after the Mai Mahiu tragedy that claimed up to 71 lives. in addition, the other incident that has shaken the nation is the incident in Tana River where a boat capsized claiming seven lives.

Uhuru Kenyatta has extended a came back call to the striking doctors urging them to offer medical care to the flood victims despite the ongoing strike. He proposed that they address their demands through dialogue.
